URGENT Fund Raising for Super Typhoon Odette Disaster Assistance

NEGROS OCCIDENTAL BADLY HIT, KABANKALAN CITY 70 % FLOODED

NEWS UPDATE: The province of Negros Occidental bore the brunt of typhoon “Odette” early Friday morning, causing major damage.

According to Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, initial reports that have come in confirm at least four fatalities, one each from San Carlos City, Kabankalan City, La Carlota City, and Manapla town.

An initial assessment made by the Provincial Disaster Management Program Division (PDMPD) reports that 70 percent of Kabankalan City was inundated.

Initial report also coming from the Provincial Veterinary Office reports at least P500 million worth of damages to livestock.

Both Lacson and Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer are currently calling for donations, particularly food items. | via Dominique Bañaga
