URGENT: COTABATO EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE REQUEST:

From Pastor Herson Amolo (HFCF/IDES Coordinator for Cotabato):

“Greetings! I just received today an urgent message from Pastor Arnel Alemania (Puting Bato COC, North Cotabato) asking if we can possibly extend assistance to our brethren here who are in dire need of food due to extreme drought. Their corn fields are drying up due to El Niño. Their members are dependent on their corn fields which are all dried up. They are really affected by this dry spell, not only in their are but in all North Cotabato.

In the immediate area, there are five churches (with 116 families and 173 children). They will have very little to eat in the coming days. Unfortunately, government assistance has been very slack to non-existent.

May I request that we give to these needy families a sack of rice (either a 5 kilo or a 10 kilo sack) and some canned goods? This will provide food for these 116 families for at least for a week or so while waiting for the government emergency assistance/supplies. My team will handle buying the stocks, packaging and distributing the assistance among the churches (below is a picture of some of our brethren in the midst off their dried-up corn crops).

Here are the projected costs:

Sack of Rice (10 kilos) x 116 familiesP580ea= P67,280
Canned Goods (Tinapa) x 5 CasesP2,345ea=P11,725
Total:P79,005

Please do consider helping our brethren here! We will gather as much funds as we can from our local churches which are also in a very similar predicament. God is merciful!

The Harvest for Christ Foundation Disaster Team aims to gather at least $ 2,000 to fund this immediate and short-term urgentrequest. PLEASE DO CONSIDER HELPING US MEET THIS IMMEDIATE GOAL OF $ 2,000. WE HAVE ALREADY ALLOCATED $ 500 FROM OUR DISASTER/ EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE FUNDS. WE WANT TO SEND OUT THE ASSISTANCE BY SUNDAY, APRIL 7.

Thank you for your generous and prayerful response to this request.
