Highlights:
Praise the Lord for our Harvest Event and Medical Mission. On October 27, our joint efforts (HFCF and NCCC) on conducting a Medical and Dental Mission has been successful. We thank God that we were able to offer a free medical and dental service for many of our neighbors, friends and church members as well. We had 65 patients in dental and 128 in medical. We are also thankful for the Medical and Dental Team; for our doctors, Dr. Eli Cortez, Dr. Ronnelaine Cortez; for our dentists, Sis. Rhoda Formales, Bro. Boni Cortez, Sis. Vickee Cortez, Sis. Elsa Merindo; and for our nurses, Sis. Delia Cortez and Sis. Marilyn Santiago. We also thank their driver, Bro. Noel Federio who drove safely their van all the way from Manila to Naga, and vice versa. Many have expressed their thanks to us because of that wonderful work later on and some have attended our evangelistic Harvest Event the next day and were led to Christ. In fact during our evangelistic night eleven persons have come forward and have confessed their faith in the Lord. On Saturday, after that event we were able to baptize and even on the following week still others are coming to be baptized. That was the very first time our church here in Naga has made that community service and it’s worth it. And we cannot explain the joy we feel when we somehow become the arms of Jesus in sharing His love and compassion with the people. Once again, we thank the Lord through you brethren in HFCF for the continued support. By the way, some pictures are included below.
Thanksgiving Day, on November 27. Our highlight for November activity was our Thanksgiving Day celebration. We made it just one worship service just as usual, meaning, we didn’t have a vesper service for us to make it more special. In fact we had to install our collapsible tent in front of the church as an extension because of the crowd. Before the Thanksgiving message, every cell group has presented their prepared number which added more excitement to everybody. Then, I was able to deliver a message on the theme: Gratefulness on God’s Providence. It also inspired many in faith and challenged us to grow in thanksgiving. Then the message was followed by thanksgiving offering. After the program, we’re standing around the table praying for our pack lunch.
Church Anniversary on September 4. Our highlight for the month of September was our 38th Church anniversary, which become another important inspiration to the church leaders, members and visitors as well. Our theme for this year’s program is, “Find Us Faithful.” This become the challenge to the church to be more faithful to God and His word, to keep His commandment and pursue His plan and vision for the church. We are blessed by the program as well as by the words of encouragement from the preaching. Many attended our program, not just from our church but also from other neighboring local churches. Canaman church, Udoc, Libmanan Church, Bolo Norte Church and Siruma Church members were present during our program which also rekindled our faith. We thank God for that.
Family Day on August 6. Our special event for the month of August has been significant also because it strengthens every family that composes the whole church family. We also held the program in the church. It was a great and exciting time for the parents and children hear lectures and message that tackle about family matters. We also had games and other different activities that highlighted on the unity and harmony in the home. In the end, those who attended felt blessed and hopeful that their family will be more flourishing with God’s love and care.
Daily Vacation Bible School on May 11-13. Our special event for the month of May was also one of our important annual activities which has a great impact on the lives of our children, our church’ future. We had conducted DVBS for just 3 days because we’ve made it a morning and afternoon sessions. We had an average of 50-60 students who attended it this year. However, many of their parents have attended the graduation program and hear the Word of God. That is why we are so thankful to the Lord that our endeavor for these little once was so fruitful.
Other commitments. I was able to teach and be a part of the annual camp and seminar for young people, the SBI or the Summer Bible Institute held on the first and second week of May. Once again this year, I was invited to teach on the subjects of Life of Christ, Doctrine and Church History. And recently, I was also invited as a lecturer on the 10th National Youth Convention and SPKKK anniversary on November 26 at Baguio City with the theme: Our Born Identity. We praise God it was also become successful.
14 Baptisms from June to November. By the help of God through our collective efforts on small group meetings, we were able to reap the harvest of 14 souls who have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ in the Christian water baptism. Here are the names of our newly baptized members from the month of June to November, 2016.
