FINAL REPORT: July 28, 2022 ABRA Earthquake HFCF/IDES Assistance

4. Pastor Alfred Tubana, Jr. –

is the senior pastor of two local churches: Udangan and Calbot Churches of Christ. The brethren (around 150) in these two local churches look up to him for spiritual leadership and support.

The magnitude 7.0 earthquake (and successive very strong aftershocks) destroyed his house, rendering the family without a dwelling place, forcing them to live in a tent shelter nearby.

The nearby Udangan chapel, as well as dwellings of the brethren, suffered severe structural damages rendering them similarly unusable, much to the dismay of the brethren. Key roads, bridges and infrastructure were likewise severely damaged, cutting off these communities from access and relief supplies. Discouragement prevailed over the brethren.

Pastor Tubana’s spiritual condition was very critical to the hope of the brethren, and praise God the funds came just in time to refresh Bro. Tubana’s heart and spirit, as he led in rebuilding the houses and the Udangan church building and Calbot chapel. He oversaw the distribution of rice sacks/relief supplies, medical assistance, children feeding and Bible distribution.
