Dear David & Eleanor,
Shalom! So happy we have made it to October. Because of the High Holidays in September, Israelis had many days off from work and school. Even universities delay the start of classes. Now, in October, we can finally settle down into our routines, studies, and get going with special projects and events. We are ready! Thank you so much for praying for us, supporting and partnering with us for this unique ministry in Israel.
I am happy to share with you some special projects I am putting together over the next month. We are gearing up to record the second season of the “I Found Shalom” video series that presents inspiring testimonies (in English and in Hebrew) of Jewish people who have accepted Jesus as their Messiah. The testimonies are engaging and their online viewership is incredible. As a staff, when we hear people’s testimonies or spiritual journeys, it most likely involves watching online spiritual content. In the next few weeks, we will begin recording Israeli believers’ testimonies and I am managing the logistics of the project. It is thrilling to think about the countless lives this could touch!
Second, I am leading the team planning a conference at the end of December called SOLID, (Summit of Leaders in Development), which will be a gathering of Jews and Gentiles who love and support Israel and are involved in their local Jewish communities. We want to encourage them to share Jesus, be a part of the discipleship of new believers, and be a mentor. What makes this conference different is the age range, 35-45 years old. Often this group is forgotten and pushed aside. These Millennials are “too old” for the young adults groups and may not want to join the older groups. They have been given responsibility in their places of worship, in vocational ministry, or creative arts/business/academics but may not be fed or mentored anymore. They are the ones leading, feeding, and mentoring a younger generation! We hope this Summit will ignite a fire in them to keep leading and be movers and shakers in their spheres—to see more Jewish people come to believe in Jesus the Messiah!
Third, we have a number of special happenings at HaMercaz, our ministry center in Ramat Gan. People come, they bring their friends, they hear the Gospel and ask questions. It’s incredible. So, bring on October—We Are Ready!
Blessings,
 Rachel Davis |
