Allow me to share with you a burden God placed in my heart when I first heard this story a few years ago.
One of our preachers in a small town in Bicol would regularly go to a smaller outreach church in a barrio in the afternoon after the Sunday morning worship at his home church. One Sunday afternoon, to the dismay of the barrio church, he failed to show up. Next Sunday, the congregation inquired in concern what happened.
My tatay (dad), who you lovingly know as Bro. Dieg, told me that story. He and my Nanay (mom), Sis. Maring were working in the Bicol Region then. When the Lord called Bro. Diego home, it became necessary to close down ESPM (Evangelic Strategies, Philippine Missions), the mission they organized in the Philippines to help train, equip and provide supplemental financial support to our needy ministers in the provinces.
It was then that the burden to help continue and expand the work they started grew heavier. Christ’s appeal spoke stronger and more personal, “…Behold the fields. …” It was time to be in God’s threshing floor, and from a grain of faith God led us to organize the “Harvest for Christ Foundation, Inc.” , a US-registered non-profit organization which endeavors to help send, support and equip God’s workers for His harvest in the Philippines.
I invite you to join us in God’s threshing floor, to pray to the Lord of the Harvest and partner with us in the joyous harvest of souls for Christ in the Philippines.
Your Co-laborer in God’s Eternal Kingdom,
David Romulo
