Pastor and missionary/professor Leonard Thompson (originally from Madras, India) studied at Davao Bible Seminary in 1961. Now, 65 years later, he is back in the Davao Bible Seminary (now MCFCS: Mindanao Christian Foundation College and Seminary), as the lecturer in a 5-day leadership/discipleship seminar hosted by MCFCS and PLCMM (Phil. Light Christian Missions, Mindanao). The seminar was held last April 27th – May 1st, 2026.
The Harvest for Christ Foundation supports this quarterly discipleship seminar in Davao which aims to help train and develop church leaders/pastors in their pastoral, evangelism and discipleship tasks.
The purpose of his lecturer was to train the evangelist/preachers in reaching out to the Muslims in Mindanao. Bro. Leonard has finished a full course on Muslim evangelism in Ozark Bible Seminary (now Ozark Christian College), Joplin, Missouri, and served there was an Adjunct Professor for 10 years. He established the mission “STRATEGIC WORLD EVANGELISM” in India to reach the millions of non-Christians in India (in their native language), as well as unbelievers outside India through radio and TV broadcasts.
The Davao city seminar was well0-attended with 83 attendees/students; and afterwards during the closing ceremonies, 5 new souls committed their lives to the Lord. Praise God indeed!
